Hey, how are you all doing? I'm sorry for not contributing to the community yet, but I think it was necessary to clear my problems on the PC, in no offence to this place :tazz: . Let's start from the top shall we?

I had just started my computer, and about 5 minutes later, my Norton Internet Security came up with this:

"Security Alert : High Risk. Attempt to connect to local computer using DeepThroat Trojan horse detected."

And to be honest, my mind came with "OK." I was actually quite shocked, so I decided to run my Norton Anti-Virus, and these 6 are "at-risk files":

block-checker.exe
ccapp.exe
ccapp.exe
navshext.ddl
navshext1.ddl
navshext[1]

Well, block-checker my brother download without my permission, and I was seriously suspicious of it at the beginning. I do not know what the others are, however. I haven't deleted these, just to make sure.

Now, I download HiJackThis, and this is the result it came up with:

Any help please? It would be helpful if I quickly got the reply to delete or not the 6 things I got from my Norton Scan. The HiJack however, I wouldn't mind, but as soon as possible would be nice. Many thanks.

Hi The Ownage

Welcome to G2G! :tazz:

Download Blockrem from HERE
  • Unzip it to its own folder on your desktop.
  • Boot your computer to safe mode by rebooting and tapping the F8 button repeatedly until it brings up a boot menu.
  • From the boot menu, select Safe Mode by using the arrow keys to highlight it then pressing enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the Blockrem folder on your desktop and double-click blockrem.bat to run it.
  • Once it is running please follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Reboot and post a HijackThis log.
Note: When you post the next log, please don't enclose it in the code tags. That makes it more difficult to read. Simply paste it in your reply as is.

How is the computer? Is it running OK? Any remaining problems to address?

* Check this out for info on how to tighten your security settings and some good free tools to help prevent this from happening again.

* Go to Windows update and install all "High Priority Updates".

* Now turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.
