I have picked up this virus and have been unable to get rid of it. Could someone please talk me through the process, as this is my first time doing this. Hi Sam! Thanks for responding. I have downloaded hijack this to it's own file on my desktop. You requested a log. I Apologize, but I don't know how to do this. Can you walk me through it. Here's how to get a log from hijackthis...

Open up Hijackthis and click the Do a System Scan and Save a Logfile button on the top.
Hijackthis will create a log and automatically open it up with notepad. Copy the entire log and paste it here into your next reply.

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

• Click on "Open the Misc Tools section".
• Next click on "Open uninstall manager".

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As", in FF it's "Save Link As") to download Silent Runners.

• Save it to the desktop.
• Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
• You will receive a prompt:
  • Do you want to skip supplementary searches?
    click NO
• If you receive an error just click OK and double-click it to run it again - sometimes it won't run as it's supposed to the first time but will in subsequent runs.
• You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
