Welcome to Geekstogo. I am lovethepirk and will be helping you
Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
To post a Hijackthis log(HJT) you need to please do this.
Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.spywarein.../HijackThis.exe
Save it in a convenient permanent folder such as C:\HJT\ or your desktop, double click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
Regards,
LTP

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
- Turn your computer back on.
- Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

You really should post a HJT log because I bet you might have a couple miscellaneous viruses/trojans/worms running around

I downloaded hijackthis and put it in a folder. When I ran it, I got a pessage that windows couldn't find AcroRd32.exe. I entered the place on C where it is and got the message that it couldn't open hijackthis.log because it is either not supported or the file is corrupted. I don't know what I am doing so I might have deleted the read part of acrobat. Do I need to reinstall acrobat 6.0?

Go here and get the new adobe:
http://www.download....8-10000062.html
Then try downloading hijackthis again and running it.

I knew it, but I gave it a try anyway. Adobe 7 does not work for window 98.
I will reinstall Adobe 6 and then run hijack.
Thanks for your patience and help.

I have now reinstalled my old adobe. I ran HJT and my adobe pops up and says that it doesn't accept this kind of file or something is corrupt. Do we continue or do we let it go. I'm willing to continue if you are, but I must say that my computer is running better than it did before the winfixer problem. For one thing, it doesn't freeze as much---I can run Norton and Ad-Ware without it feezing in the middle.

Well since you are running okay I am not overly concerned but seeing a HJT log would be good. Try deleting the current HJT file that you have and redownload from here:
http://www.merijn.or...ackthis_sfx.exe
Then post a log for me if it works.

Adobe still won't accept the file. It still says it is not an accepted file type or that it has been corrupted. I tried doing a screen save with my bitmap, but it is unreadable. I tried wordpad, but it looked unintelligable to me, but I will send it if you want it.
What file type is HJT?
Do you have any suggestions?

So I take it you are able to run the pogram but the log that is produced is not being opened?
If that is the case you can attach the file here and I will get it. If that doesn't work you can e mail it to me at lovethepirk(at)yahoo.com
Thanks,
LTP
The log is a .log file, which I guess adobe is controling on your computer. If you know how maybe you could alter that or you could also change the file name to hijackthis.txt and it will be opened by notepad.

LTP,
I'm still trying to get you a HJT list, but I can't figure out how to do it yet. I have tried to email it to you, but it is still coming up with the adobe error message. I will email it to you and see if you can get it.
My computer is freezing when I run my Norton antivirus, so I am becoming worried.
Thanks,
Sus

Hey Hey...try this
Run HiJackThis. When it produces the hijackthis.log, right-click on that .log file and go to Open With > Choose Program. When the window opens, click to highlight Notepad, then put a check next to "Always Use Selected Program to open this kind of file". Click OK.
Then you can copy and paste that info in here for me to look at.
Hope this works...
