Hey all,

Ive been backing up me and my roommates library of dvd's we got, in case one gets scratched up too bad later.

So Ive been using Dvd Shrink to get the image of the dvd movie on my hard drive and have been using Nero 6 to copy the movie from my hard drive to a DVD-R disc.

Problem Im having which Ive been reading A LOT lately on the web is people seem to be having the same exact problem Im having and that is when Nero is copying the dvd from the hard drive to the dvd-r disc, it hangs up....

It either stops at 60% or 90% and just hangs. Other times the TIME LEFT timer runs down to 0, way before the burning is even done and it just hangs.

Has anyone else been having this problem with Nero lately? How do I fix it and is there any better software I can use to transfer the DVD from the hard drive to the dvd-r??

Ive used 5 different types of dvd-r's and still it hangs. Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, and still it hangs. Its burning at 2.4 speed and it STILL..................hangs.

Im about to give up. HELP!!

I have had problems with Nero as well, sometimes it lets me copy a dvd and crashes my comp later or sometimes it just fails and i get the blue screen etc. I have taken it out altogether now as i am fairly new tocomputing and domt want to do more harm to my a;ready slow pc. Does anyone know why this happens? Thanks

Ive done that and even while it being lowered to 2.0 speed at recording time and it still hangs. I however uninstalled and took it completely off my computer and installed Roxio. The newest version and so far I have had NO problems burning dvd's.

So apparently its some type of bug with Nero or you just need a [bleep] load of memory to run it.

So if anyone is having similar problems burning backups of your dvds and using Nero, just uninstall it and install the newest Roxio and you should be ok.
