Hello, this is my first post on this site. Hope someone can help me! I've been having problems for the past couple of days w/pop ups saying my computer is possibly infected w/the blackworm virus and to download one of these programs immediately, then pop up comes up for WinAntiVirus PRO 2006 and WinAntiSpyware 2006. When this occured the first time it completely freaked me out b/c it looked really legit. I thought it was possibly a microsoft notification or something to do w/windows and I ended up clicking on "download" (I know, I know, big mistake!). Of course it then asked me to pay for the software which clued me into the fact that it was most probably not legit. I have Norton Internet Security 2005 Antispyware edition, ran a scan & found nothing. Everytime I connect to the internet I am getting these same popups along w/some from sexbuddies.com and other [bleep] sites. I have followed all of the directions listed under the section "You must read this before posting a hijackthis log" on this site. I have been trying to run all of the scans over the past couple of nights (I have a 3 year old and not a lot of free time ). I am trying to locate the ewido report I saved the other night, but I am having trouble remembering what I saved it as (it was late ). While I keep looking, here is a copy of my HijackThis Log:

Welcome to the GTG Forums, I will be reviewing your HJT log.
Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

You will need to print out these instructions for a reference or you can
save them by copying and pasting them into notepad and saving the text file to the desktop.

This process will take a few steps, please take your time and follow the directions in the order posted.

Please do not try to fix anything on your own, it will only make it harder to get you a resolution.
If you don't understand something, please ask before performing any task..

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
• Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
• You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
• When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
• Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
• You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
• Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
• When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
• Turn your computer back on.

Once that is complete do the following:

Updating Java and Clearing Cache

• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Java Icon (coffee cup) in the Control Panel.
• It will say "Java Plug-in" under the icon.
  Please find the update button or tab in the Java Control Panel. Update your Java then reboot.
• If you are unable to update you can manually update by going here:
  • http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
• After the reboot, go back into the Control Panel and double-click the Java Icon.
• Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button.
• There are three options in the window to clear the cache - Leave ALL 3 CheckedDownloaded Applets
  Downloaded Applications
  Other Files
• Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window
  Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE.
• Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel.

Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log by using Add Reply

Thank you so much for your help. I have completed the first step of running VundoFix and I'm now to the point of Updating Java. I cannot seem to find the Java Icon under Control Panel. When I open the control panel I have a screen that says "Pick a category" with the following categories listed: appearance and themes; network and internet connections; add or remove programs; sounds, speech and audio devices; performance and maintenance; printers and other hardware; user accounts; date, time, language and regional options; accessiblilty options; security center. Where do I need to go from here?

Lets make sure nothing else is still lingering around. You will have to use Internet Explorer for the following:

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

• The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
• Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  
• Now click on Scan Settings
• In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
  
  • Scan Options:
  Scan Archives
  Scan Mail Bases
• Click OK
• Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
• This will program will start and scan your system.
• The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
• Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
• Save the file to your desktop.

Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

You will need to print out these instructions for a reference or you can
save them by copying and pasting them into notepad and saving the text file to the desktop.

This process will take a few steps, please take your time and follow the directions in the order posted.

Open HijackThis and perform a scan only, then place a checkmark next to each of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

Now close all browsers and open windows except for HijackThis, then click the Fix Checked button. Once that completes close HijackThis.

No go to Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and remove the following if present:

PartyPoker.net
MyWaySearch or MyWaySA

Close out those windows, if it asks to reboot just click no.

Showing Hidden Folders/Files:

• Click Start.
• Open My Computer.
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• Select the View tab.
• Under the Hidden files and folders heading SELECT Show hidden files and folders.
• UNCHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click OK.

No using MyComputer find and remove the following folders/files if found:

C:\Program Files\PartyPoker.net\ <-- Folder
C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\ <-- Folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyv.dll < File

Let me know if you cant find or have any issues with removing those items above.

Hiding Hidden Folders/Files:

• Click Start.
• Open My Computer.
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• Select the View tab.
• Under the Hidden files and folders heading UNSELECT Show hidden files and folders.
• CHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click OK.

Now please do the following:

Clean your Cache and Cookies in IE:

• Close all instances of Outlook Express and Internet Explorer
• Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab
• Click the "Delete Cookies" button
• Next to it, Click the "Delete Files" button
• When prompted, place a check in: "Delete all offline content", click OK

• Go to Start > Run and type: cleanmgr and click ok.
• Let it scan your system for files to remove.
• Make sure Temporary Files, Temporary Internet Files, and Recycle Bin are the only things checked.
• Press OK to remove them.

Reboot and post back a new HijackThis log by using Add Reply.

I deleted the two folders w/no problem, but now I'm trying to delete ddcyv.dll and I am getting the following message:

The file "ddcyv.dll" is a system file. If you remove it your computer or one of your programs may no longer work correctly. Are you sure you want to move it to the recycle bin?

Just wanted to double check w/you on this incase it is something that could mess up my computer. Sorry, I'm just a little paranoid b/c my computer is fairly new.
