I was installing Deep Freeze version 5.3 (one that only freezes C:), and before the installation was completed, my PC booted automatically; when it started again, there was no Deep Freeze icon in the taskbar and the key combination ctrl + alt +shift + f6 didn't work. It's still like that, it'es droibving me nuts

I have tried to delete the program manually form the Program Files folder, but I can't because the program is being used; I get the same when I tried to end it with the task manager. I have tried a program called Absolute Uninstaller, but the Deep Freeze doesn’t even appear in the list of current installed programs, and when I search for programs, it won't appear. I have tried to reinstall it with the same drive, but this message tells me to disable Deep Freeze before trying to install any program. I have tried to view the menu by clicking on the icon in the Program files folder, nothing happens and I keep trying the ctrl + alt +shift + f6 thing again and again but it's worthless.

When I enter My PC to see the drives, the C drive doesn’t even have the frozen icon (you know, the ice cube), it looks like the other drives. I have really messed it up. I don't want to format C:

I have used the version 3 before. Something before, but I didn’t know this version. I don’t know if other people have had problems with it.

Please help!!!!! my C drive is permanently frozen….

Thank you for your advice, the thing is that I don't know how to run the safe mode, and I have no idea of how to do that system restore you're talking about; I'm not too handy with computers, just a decent bit.

If you please tell me how to do those things you suggest, it would be great; anyways thank you for your help.

I have tried to run the safe mode and it just doesn't load, it shows the window that says that the safe mode is about to star soon, but never starts…

When my computer was starting , I pressed f8 and there was a menu, I chose the first option which was safe mode, did I choose the right one???

It seems that the problem is that you can't get into your processes, here is a tool that is stand alone which might help, is shows you the processes and can stop them, after that you might be able to remove the program form the add/remove good luck and don't forget to post back with the result.

I went to the website you told me and downloaded a program called Process Explorer, I hope it was the right one, it showed me a very comprehensive breakdown of all the processes in my system, and all the properties of every process. But it didn’t work, I tried to kill the process and the tree of processes but it wouldn't work.

You said that I might be able to remove the program form the add/remove, but there's no add/remove part in this program, maybe you were talking about the control panel, but the control panel still doesn't show the Deep Freeze listed in the add/remove option; there's no way I can shut it down.

No, I meant to kill the process that was running then go to add/remove(appwiz.cpl) of windows, because you mentioned that you couldn't remove it because it was being used.

OK, I have another idea, go to major geeks web site, download unlocker program, which as the name says unlocks the "program is already in use". I will see if I can post the exact link below, wishing you luck and let us know.

Also, Killbox, a program offered on this site has what you are looking for too. It is in the malware removal forum, but both of those I will link you to once I finnish work later.
