• Checkmark "Create a desktop icon".
• Click "Next".
• When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed.
• Click "Finish".
• A red "dos window" (dos box) will open.
• Select option 1. Make logfile by typing 1 and then pressing Enter.
• Haxfix will start scanning the computer. When it is finished a logfile will open.
• Copy the contents of that logfile and paste it into this thread.

If an infection is found, you'll get a message to close all other open windows.
Close them, except the red dos window from haxfix and then press Enter.
The computer will reboot.
After reboot a logfile will open.
Post the contents of that logfile along with a fresh HijackThis log.

The haxfix did not work. It just took me back to the main menu of the dos screen. This is my hijack this log...Hope you can help.

Ok here is the new problem ....I ran the haxfix in manual mode from the desktop because i could not find a .bat file in the program files folder. when i typed in avpe it tried to do something but when i restarted it, the program said it had completed an illegal operation...If i chose close the program closed and if i chose ignore the computer restarted but did not produce a log file. The problem has gotten worse because now my firefox browser is not working. Here is the hijack log.

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Download CWShredder Here.

Unzip CWShredder to its own folder (ie c:\CWShredder)

Update CWShredder

• Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
• Click Check For Update
• Close CWShredder

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about.

Next, please run a scan with Ewido:

• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
• You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
• Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily. (Maybe Desktop)
• Close Ewido Anti-Malware.

Now, reboot back into Normal mode, open the Report.txt file and copy & paste it's content to this thread along with a fresh HijackThis log.

I ran ewida in safe mode and it was scanning and found something like 119 files. I left my computer on so it could continue and when i came back my laptop had shut off probably from overheating.So i restarted it in safe mode and rasn it again and it only found 5 infected files which means it probably deleted the rest...i guess. 1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.

• Click on Avenger.zip to open the file
• Extract Avenger.exe to your desktop.

2. Copy all the text in bold contained in the quotebox below to a blank notepad file:

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.

• Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
• Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
• Paste the text copied to the notepad file into this window
• Click Done
• Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
• Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

The Avenger will automatically do the following:

• Restarts your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
• On reboot, it briefly opens a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
• After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
• The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please copy/paste all the contents of avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using AddReply.

ohh man this is really getting frustrating..When i put the files into the avenger program it give me an error message that said SELECTED FILE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A VALID SCRIPT.....ERROR CODE 0.

Download and unzip BFUzip from HERE.

Run the program and click the Web button as shown here:



Use this URL to copy into the address bar of the Download script window:

Check the following boxes:

• Use settings specified in script for above options.
• Show log after script ends.

Execute the script by clicking the Execute button.

When it finishes running, click the Save button for a copy of the log. Post the log created by the script when you have completed the fix.

Please verify the address is correct and the file is available from the webserver.

Lets try this:

Please download Brute Force Uninstaller to your desktop.

• Right click the BFU folder on your desktop, and choose Extract All
• Click "Next"
• In the box to choose where to extract the files to,
• Click "Browse"
• Click on the + sign next to "My Computer"
• Click on "Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
• Click "Make New Folder"
• Type in BFU
• Click "Next", and Uncheck the "Show Extracted Files" box and then click "Finish".

2. RIGHT-CLICK HERE and choose "Save As" (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download Alcra PLUS Remover.
Save it in the same folder you made earlier (c:\BFU).

Do not do anything with these yet!

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping F8 until a menu appears. Highlight Safe Mode and hit enter.

Once in Safe Mode, please go to Start > My Computer and navigate to the C:\BFU folder.

• Start the Brute Force Uninstaller by double-clicking BFU.exe
• In the scriptline to execute field type or paste c:\bfu\alcanshorty.bfu
• Press Execute and let it do it’s job. (You ought to see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
• Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK.
• Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

Reboot into normal windows and post back with a fresh HijackThis log.
