I got the CDs, but it will not boot the Live CD on my Compaq machine and I have not tried it on other machines. Many people seem to like this distro.

that is my problem . i have downloaded Knoppix , but cant get it to run or burn to CD . THANKS i will try the site .

Make sure you get the correct version for your system, eg 64 bit for a 64 bit system, and check you have CD rom in your boot priorities in bios.
