Hi VMM VMX,
not sure if it's that but probably your teacher meant 'mantis' like this:

when you have a large number, lets say 1560000, then computers tend to write it as 1.56E+06 meaning 1.56 multiplied by 10 to the power of 6 (of course you know that, basic school stuff, eh :whistling: )

in this case, the 1.56 is called the mantis
