Installation Probelm

I recently tried to install a 60 day trial (offered by microsoft) of Microsoft Office 2003. When I go to install it, the setup goes throught this long extracting process of files that look like (xxxxx.cab), and then when the window disappears, a new alert pops up after about a minute stating, "Fatal error during installation". Then I click ok and its over. I can't install it. I've tried researching this problem but everything I found doesn't apply to my situation. Does anyone know what to do, your input is much appreciated?
