when u use aim direct connect, is it safe? like can somebody send a virus that way ? or "type in" a virus that way ?

If some1 "typed" a .exe trojan and i hit save as. but i didn't open it... would i be infected? and if he just typed a ".exe" virus but i didn't like save it or open it would i still hav the virus/trojan

If you don't run (execute) a program, it won't infect you. If something suspicious came my way over IM, I would delete it, unopened, then delete it from the recycle bin.
