Today I inherited a new Mac Pro Laptop. My mother bought it and hated it and although I'm a IBM fan, I was happy to get this gift.

What I want to do is reformat it so it is like the day it was in the box. I'm lost and could really use a walkthrough. I put in a CD is came with and I get a popup asking me for my user name and password. Asking didn't get me the password due to bad memory. I am hoping a full system restore salves all these problems.

And the original poster has no doubt resolved his 3 year old problem.
