I have a computer with windows 98 installed. It will not start. I get a message that says: Self test then runs through some colors and tells me that the monitor is ok.....then it says check video cable & computer and freezes.

What is wrong

Do you get any 'beeps' during startup? These are very helpful in diagnosing the source of the problem.
