Ok I went to upgrade to the lastest version of messenger, and it started crashing and giving me problems right away. This is what is was doing. If the messenger was minimized and i right clicked on the icon on the task bar it would just shut down, no error message. If I right clicked to change my status to say I was away, it would crash with no error message. Also in chats if i wanted to view profiles, change the color of my text, use a smiley..it would crash and not give me an error message. So I deleted it and reinstalled. Same problems. So I just went back to the version I previously used that wasn't giving me problems. Only once i downgraded the same problems happened again. I tried to look for some error log but there doesn't seem to be anything showing up whenever it crashes. Any suggestions on what it is or how to fix it? I use firefox, but I tried downloading it through IE and the same problem happens with the crashing. Any help would be awesome :whistling:

I not sure what your problem with yahoo messanger is but you need to think seriously about getting rid of it an moving to trillian or there is one other one. Trillian has no spyware or adaware like all the others do plus its free you can get it here.

Trillian

Trillian™ is a fully featured, stand-alone, skinnable chat client that supports AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and IRC. It provides capabilities not possible with original network clients, while supporting standard features such as audio chat, file transfers, group chats, chat rooms, buddy icons, multiple simultaneous connections to the same network, server-side contact importing, typing notification, direct connection (AIM), proxy support, encrypted messaging (AIM/ICQ), SMS support, and privacy settings.

Without stealing your home page and with no other included software, pop-ups, or spyware, Trillian provides unique functionality such as contact message history, a powerful skinning language, tabbed messaging, global status changes (set all networks away at once), Instant Lookup (automatic Wikipedia integration), contact alerts, an advanced automation system to trigger events based on anything happening in the client, docking, hundreds of emoticons, emotisounds, shell extensions for file transfers, and systray notifications.

Thanks for the help. I did check out the trillian messenger. It was pretty cool but one of the things I do with yahoo is chat on it in a room with friends and I don't see anywhere on trillian for that option besides just your basic pming. it's ok though, I just use yahelite now instead of signing through the messenger itself. Not sure what happened with the messenger all of a sudden but both yahoo themselves and you guys on here, no one seems to know what it is! Thanks for your help though! :whistling:
