connection dies every 5 minutes

What do you mean stops? How are you connected to the modem? What type of modem? Have you called your phone company? If so what did they tell you?

Hi. My westell model 2200 dsl router has the ethernet, power and dsl lights lit up, which it normally has so i'm assuming thats fine. I'm using a linksys etherfast cable/dsl router model befsr41. It is connected through ethernet cables through 2 computers, my pc and a laptop. Every once in a while we just have no connection to the internet, it just dies.
