how about avi to mp4? i need a program that converts avi to mp4 at very fast speeds..like in 30min converting a 700-800 MB movie.

I have never done this with a free program so im unsure on what might be the best, start here at google though:

The speed will have a lot to do with your processor rather then the software. But the software to a degree will determine the time it takes, eg if u choose massive compression it will take ages, again im not sure on what settings in the software will determine this.
