Just use a cdrom simulator and install it from your current OS.

Hi knightinight...

I don't think your method of installing will be very effective installing Vista on a new build...

I'm running Avast! (free version) on my Vista machine and it seems to be working just fine.

Ya I was going to recomend Avast. I use it on all of my PC's and I saw a blurb on their site saying it should work fine with both the 32 and 64 bit versions.

I thought it was a great idea too, until Daemon tools was deemed incompatible and whatnot before the upgrade had completed... thus leaving me in a complete stalemate and with no copy :whistling: Learn from my mistake (and others' wisdom), heh.

I burned mine using a DVD-RW disc and have had no problems what so ever, and I can now re-use my Disc. I didn't think it would work but it worked fine and my vista is working OK.

I am also using McAfee's Total Protection Beta on windows vista and it is working pretty OK, with only one minor problem, Which doesn't really affect much at all.

I used nero and burnt the ISO file onto a DVD-RW and made sure the session was not locked, and I can now erase and use again.

AVG's free edition works with Vista now too.

If you burn Vista to a DVD, use a slow speed (even 1-2X). The majority if installation issues have been due to faulty media.
