I need more information please. If it's a game, shouldn't it just install once you put the CD in and accept the license agreement, etc?

It runs on dos within windows I havnt tried it on xp before lol.
Its a tough game to install on newer operating systems but it can be done..
Try installing it using the dos install method and you have to set up the sound drivers and etc also with that game.. Its been awhile but I remember having to set up the sound drivers/channels and select what device you have.. If you dont have any of those devices for sound just test one until it works.. If it doesnt work then disable sound but you sould still be able to play it without sound..

You can always run the game in compatibility mode... Do you know how to do that?

There seems to be an emulator that supposivly allows you to play redneck rampage on xp.

You could also try using DOSBox.
