When I use the "Send A Link" from the Mail button on the Standard Buttons bar, IE seems to freeze up, but it is actually opening somewhere in the vicinity of 57 IE pages. At one point it looks like an installer pops up (very quickly) and dissappears. I have to close the group of IE's in order to view a web page again. Any idea what's happening? Also, this will happen if someone has a link on their page that refers to an email link. Kirk

in i.e go to tools > internet options > programs
what does it say for the default mail client?

...don't know why i'm asking...because the outcome is kind of the same...it may be in your best interest to take a trip through the malware forum to be sure you don't have anything funky in there (multiple IE pages opening when not asked to do so is never a good sign)Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty (and you may not be) then post a hijackthis log in THE MALWARE FORUM forum.
(Posting HiJack This logs in any other forum other than the malware forum is forbidden. If you post an HJT log in any other forum, it will be removed and it will take you longer to get help, so please make sure you only post HJT logs in the malware forum)

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Hey, thanks for the instruction. But, it was a bit daunting. I couldn't even tell where to start. I thought to check my Add/Remove programs (I have kids) and found at least 10 programs that had no info or even some without registry values. I know my computer pretty well and used "Your Uninstaller" to eradicate these demons. This was just a preliminary before I got too involved with the link you sent me to. I rebooted and voila. No problems now. The only remaining question is where did those little bugger apps come from. They couldn't even be found in my system's SEARCH engine. Thankfully, they were located in my uninstaller app. UpLoad, WebReg, SkinsHP1 & 2, just to name a few. Well, sorry for the time, but it's good to know you guys are around when needed. Thanks, Kirk
