Hi I have recently bougt a computer for my little girl to surf the net and help her with her school work, I have cleaned it installed avg, popup blockers and so on its all safe and in good working order...... untill i started to up grade it, it had some kind of celeron prosesser 600 ??? in it ........ an old one at that I went to my local computer shop and bought a pentium /// intel 797 (what ever that is) :whistling:

I put it in and started the computer now all i get is


<WINDOWS ROOT>\system32\hal.dll. missing or corupt please install and reboot
(all i can do is press F1 and it reboots and goes to the same screen)

How do install this as the computer came with no cd or disks I have acses to the net with my other comp.

Can I download a file and put it on a flopy drive or cd to fix it ? (if you can do that)

Or make a boot up disk flopy or cd? will this help if so how do i do it :help:

if u can get a boot disk, you can boot up from it and copy that file you need from the cd to your hd

Can I make one from my other computer ? :blink:
