Uhhh.. what do you mean? When I make aslideshow in Ulead it makes it as a .AVI file. I can then burn it into a CD-R using Ulead or Nero. I assume when It burns it also converts the file into a different file type for VCD (MPEG4 I think).
Anyways, Photostory isn't much different from UVS, When I burn the slideshow, It looks horrible. I dont know how but Nero makes the pictures look very good.

If you use Nero to make the slideshow, have you tried the make movie / export option then burned that from Nero, exported video

I dont think there is an option like that after I make the slideshow it automatically goes to the burn disk screen. I am Using Nero Express 5.5.

Check you have the make movie / export option then you can burn to a folder on the drive and use it from there

I don;t want to export it though. I want to burn it to a VCD, which I can do but with no features. Also, I can;t find the export / make movie option. I'm pretty sure my version doesn't have it.
Aren;t there any tweaks i can do with nero to add music, transitions etc?

I read this: "Audio with MPEG Stills is not possible according to the VideoCD specifications... BUT you can make a video (SVCD for better quality) from a slideshow, then add audio to the slideshow video... Note that with the MPEG stills approach you can have a better quality of your pictures than with a video made from a slideshow of pictures... You have to choose between quality and transitions/audio..."
I guess If I want effects I have to create a movie with my stills.
