No one seems to think there are other files to delete, after the delete items but I keep getting a message every so often wanting to compress files. This is making me wonder about it. Seems program is getting slower in sending. Any help for a brand new member? TIA..

OE6 is compacting messages every 100 times the program is opened by design. OE was never designed to be storage, so deleting or saving important messages elsewhere is a good idea, because the more stored messages in OE, the more sluggishly it behaves. OE stoes all of its messages in dbx files. You can do a search for that extension if you have changed the default location for those files.

Thanks, Johanna, I do try to keep the delete & sent items cleaned up on a regular basis,
I know there are temp. files & temp. internet files I clear out but always thought there must be hidden files for OE somewhere. It is the 6 that I have. I understand there is now a 7.
Another big thanks for your help. Fl. native..
