Ok, so i've been tanking this trojan all day, and maybe this forum can help me. On my comp, it has a specific name (48c5679d.exe) but because google turned nothing up, i assume that it changes names. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I think I see at least 3 major infections and a lot of other unwanted junk. I also don't see any antivirus software or firewall running. There is no use in both of us wasting our time if you are not trying to protect your system. Before we do any cleaning, I need you to have both an antivirus program as well as a software firewall in place.

A. Download, install, configue, update and run AVG Free. A link to this program can be found under Antivirus in my signature pane. Let it remove everything it finds

B. Download, install and configure ZoneAlarm Free (It does a fine job for me).

C. Restart your system and post a fresh HJT log which will reflect the presence of the above programs.

Download haxfix.exe
and save it to your desktop.

• Double click on haxfix.exe to install haxfix. (standard installation path is c:\program Files\haxfix)
• Checkmark "Create a desktop icon"
• Click "Next"
• When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed
• Click "Finish"

A red "dos window" (dos box) will open with options:
1. Make logfile
2. Run auto fix
3. Run manual fix
E. Exit Haxfix

• Select option 1. Make logfile by typing 1 and then pressing Enter
• Haxfix will start scanning the computer. When it is finished a logfile will open: haxlog.txt
• Copy the contents of that logfile and paste it into this thread. (c:\haxfix.txt)

DO NOT run any other options unless directed to do do

Option 2 autofix

• Open this folder program files > haxfix and double click on fix.bat (or double click on fix.bat desktop icon)
• Close all other open windows since this step requires a reboot
• Select option 2. Run auto fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter

If an infection is found, you'll get a message to close all other open windows.

• Close all open windows except the red dos window from haxfix and then press Enter
• The computer will reboot
• After reboot a logfile will open > (c:\haxfix.txt)
• Post the contents of that logfile along with a new HijackThis log.

Ok...the fixes turned up nothing. there was nothing found. I'm sorry to say, but i had been deleting and searching files prior to coming to this board, so I think something that i did before then might have gotten rid of it. that, or the virus scanner scared it away .

A) 1. Click HERE to get to Jotti's site.

2. At the top of the Jotti window, use the Browse button to locate the following file on your system:

3. Once you have located the file, click SUBMIT and the content of the file will be uploaded by the site and analysed.

Hi. The file in question for scanning is no longer there. I think avg picked it up. Also, two more .dll were seen as trojans and were picked up as well. I believe that this has led to internet connection loss. My LAN is available, but no application can use the internet. I ran a haxfix log again, and came up with the same results. Here's the HJT log. Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other option until you are directed to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
