Are you using 3rd party burning software, or drag and drop in windows explorer?
Right click on the drive image in my computer, then go Properties, and then go to the Recording tab.
Make sure the "Enable recording on this drive" box is ticked... Is the drive playing CDs/DVDs ok?

Just had a quick look on google, try reducing the speed at which you are burning. Also, are you using cheap CD-Rs or DVDs, because i had that problem ages ago with a certain brand of cds, imation i think, and i had to use Nero for all my cd burnings...... You may need to browse the web for a freeware burning software, DeepBurner, Burn4Free, CdBurner XP are some free ones, not sure how good they are..

In the meantime, have a look on google, typing in the error message, as it is a very common problem, and happens a fair bit i believe. I wouldnt be too worried about your dvd burner, its not a hardware problem, except maybe for the discs you are using...

I would stop using off brand burning software and go with the best. You can get Nero essentials or nero 7 0r nero 6 here.

These are OEM registerable versions of nero.

yes, well said, I use nero 7 Premium, and thats what i recommend. Ifyou are prepared to pay for it, then you will get your moneys worth i believe. Hope you sorted it out...
