I get an error message sometime that refers to Generic Host Process For Win32 Error
How do I fix this issue?

This can occur when a poorly written program (typically spyware) attempts to access the system using the above process, also known as svchost.

I would being by posting a hijackthis log in the appropriate forum

I'm not sure. I have been trying to create a website in publisher and have also been looking for a job using different site for job hunting. Should I worry about this issue.

I would certainly post a hijack log to the appropriate forum..there are a number of perfectly legitimate programs that use svchost--and none I've encountered cause a problem.

The only ones that cause a problem with this process are spyware programs
