I am a newby (today)and am confused about this forum. I understand which topics are taboo and agree with Admin on those topics. What I don't understand is what topic (s) is considered serious and does not breach the unallowed topics list. Please name a few. Thank you for this wonderful site. I have just discoved it and plan to use the computer forums when needed.

In fact it is very hard to tell which topics are serious, any topic can turn with the tone of the posters, but this Serious topics forum tends to be exactly that, those threads that are important to you though that does not mean that others may share that opinion. If something big happens like Isreal, 9/11, etc., then it is normally here that you find that post whereas everyday stuff tends to go to the Randam topics forum, the technical stuff to its forum and the jovial stuff to the games forum.

Anyway, hope this helps and not to worry if you post in the wrong forum, this site is very forgiving as long as the poster shows no malice towards the feelings of other members and their beliefs; besides, if you post in the wrong forum often you find that the modirator has just reposted it in its right place upon your return. It's a really good site so welcome then.

You can also read some of the other threads if you're not sure - get an idea of the tone of the different subforums. As fleamailman said, though, one of the mods will re-direct it if need be.
