I reformatted the computer a couple of weeks ago and the sound hasn't been working since then. I put in a new sound card that I obtained from a friend about two months ago and things have been fine until I reformatted it.. I don't remember the name of the sound card so that's a problem as well. Plus, the computer's just not reading the hardware anymore.

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on the right for multimedia / audio adapter

Look at the manufacturer’s site for the suitable drivers for your Operating System
