The world's most famous doll is being given yet another makeover to help educate children and raise cash for a breast cancer foundation.

She's been an astronaut and worked at McDonald's, Barbie has pursued more than 90 careers since her creation in the 1950s, and has dated Brad, Allan and Australian hunk Blaine, as well as long-term partner Ken, with whom she split in 2004

The "Pink Ribbon Barbie" will feature the doll wearing a pink gown with a ribbon attached. "The Pink Ribbon Barbie doll celebrates the incredible strength, beauty and resilience of women," Mattel said.

Mattel has pledged that at least 100,000 dollars will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

I was just looking at this before I found this post.

I need a gift for my mother in law. She is a doll collector and this will be perfect. Thanks Keith.

Hey, step back. He was robbed in the Mom challenge. He is awesome and he should have won the first challenge when he made that dress and used the chains from the shower curtain as the jewelry. I :whistling: him.

His outfit in the Mom challenge wasn't that swanky but he shouldn't have been auffed. His dog outfit was cute too.
I bought the Barbie for my mother in law.

well...i'll concede that his stuff may not have been complete crap...in the world of amateur designers...but...it's not at the level that it should be for someone who stands to win what they win on that show

The latest Barbie accessory is her pet dog, called Tanner, which not only looks like a loveable labrador but also poops like one too.

Almost a soon as Barbie has fed the dog its biscuit treats, a little something comes out the other end.

But, in a move designed to encourage responsible dog ownership, toy manufacturer Mattel has provided Barbie with a pooper scooper and bin too, meaning Tanner never has to leave any unwanted 'gifts' lying about on the carpet.

Tanner also comes equipped with dog toys, a bone, biscuit treats, a feeding bowl and a pink lead.

And, just in case that does not get the message across, Mattel has produced a promotional video of Barbie and Tanner playing in the park that shows you how to 'potty train' your dog.

So while Barbie may have seemed like the girl who had everything – including great clothes, cool cars, fabulous horses and no end of accessories – now we know what she was missing.

Good thing I bought the Barbie doll for my mother in law before this came out. I think my 9-year-old son would like this, though. Thanks Keith.

Interesting. After all, Barbie has been the inspiration for many girls to want breast implants from the age of 12! The unreal Barbie's body might also be behind all kinds of eating disturbances in young women. If Mattel wants really to contribute to good health causes, why not modify Barbie's body to set a more livable standard to our daughters? Let's get a chubby Barbie! With regular breasts! and waist and hips, etc... (No need to poop, though...) :whistling:
