The Media Center Edition OS is a regular windows OS with all the media parts integrated into right? My friend thought it was a specialized OS for computers that would only be used for media. Im about to buy a new computer and im just making sure that it will still do everything (except xp pro specific etc.) as an XP OS.

Yeah although it falls under XP so XP forum it basically just has the windows media center application pre packaged. If you want a media center you can use mythTV.
