Hi guys, i recently changed my ISP to tiscali "MAX" which is up to 8mb connection depending on where you live etc,

I recieve around 2500-3000download and 250-350upload

But when i play games such as counter strike i suffer from eratic ping behaviour it averages around 120 and can drop to around 75 (Best i get) and rise to 300, Its made playing online games impossible.

Also It seemed to worsen after i had a Sky (Television company) technician round to connect the skybox to the phone line, could he have made the line dodgy?

I use to get around 30 (at best) ping on my old ISP and before the technician came

anyhelp is appreciated :whistling:

Most ISP's have very busy DNS's which cause slow times when loading pages with domain names. However as this is a direct ping to an IP address you should be looking at calling your ISP.

In the mean time - try setting your DNS's to my server which is barely being used;

82.138.240.15 (Primary)
82.138.240.9 (Secondary)

After changing my DNS to these I have noticed massive changes in my speeds of resolving domain names.

After some time the ping speeds on a router become "INTERLEAVED", if you ring your ISP and tell them that your ping speeds are becoming interleaved they can possibly flush the line and correct these problems for you.
