I have alot of problems with shutting down, booting up and restarting. When I first got the computer, it booted up fast with no problems. But also since I got it, if you try to restart in any way, when it boots up again it says "Operating system not found" but I just ignored that and so I never restart, I just shut down.

Alot of times though, the computer won't shut down, it freezes and I have to pull the cord out of the back. And Outpost keeps asking me if I want to shut it off when I'm shutting the computer down and it didn't used to do that. And then when it starts up again it wants to run Scandisc since I couldn't shut it down right and usually Scandisc takes like four minutes but now it's taking like a half an hour. And even then, sometimes after I log into my windows name, it freezes and I have to go through the process all over again.

It's getting rather frustrating and to the point where I don't feel like shutting off the computer anymore. Does anyone know what the problem is? ^^;

Do you have any virus, malware/ spyware protection?
If so, when was the last time it was updated?

I would start with the scanners. Do them in safe mode if possible.

I have all of that, they're updated frequently, and I just sorted out all virus problems on my computer in the malware forum. But thank you for the suggestion. :3 Today I booted it up fine and I noticed perhaps it was because I had my cable modem turned off. Not sure if that's the reason, *shrugs* but I'll keep it in mind next time I boot up/shutdown.
