Mmm... Did you try physically unplugging the power cord from the wall and the pc? I know many systems come with a surge protect feature. This requires the user to completely unplug from the electrical source in order to power the system back on after a surge or system crash. I don't know all the details - but you might try that to get the power to come back on. If there's no power then you're power supply is probably dead - even if you fried something on the board it should still come on when you power on.

Drivers are current. Simply the presence of the graphics card in the slot appears to prevent display to turn on.

seems like it was the power supply that overheated. I got a new one and the computer is working fine now. thanx for the help
