motorola SBG900 DDoS prevention

Hey.
I have a Motorola SBG900 Wireless cable router. I was wondering, It says it stops DDoS attacks. Is this Always on even when the firewall is turned off? If not How can i set it up so it ONLY Stops DDoS attacks?

Really you need a nice ddos protection provider that is ready to do traffic filtering to stop a DDoS attack in the event you have a problem.
