Well.. my monitor keeps going off sometimes and comes right back like it's degausing at random.. the first time it happened it shocked my girlfriend. her hand was on the mouse..

I re-installed my Dell 2400 chipset and my video driver, although I didn't see it, she claims it has happened agian while I was downstairs..

Not sure whats going on but in my device manager it shows the follow
Under "Other Devices" and everything in that thing has a yellow question mark and a exclamation point --> !

It shows
Other Devices
PCI Input Device
PCI Modem

Not sure what these are or what I can do to fix it, someone please help me?

download the modem and input (keyboard driver maybe, or special mouse driver) device drivers form dell and install them....

neither should have that affect on your monitor, though...maybe your girlfriend is has an unusual aura that interacts with your monitors magnetic field...sounds like a joke, I know, but was working on a network in an office once and every time this woman walked by the desk I was at, the pencil sharpener would go off...freaky.

Seriously, the monitor could be going on the fritz, the plug could be going bad....hmmm.

See if you can manually recreate the problem...jiggle the plug, pull the monitor card off the videocard...what does it look like is happening?

Well it hasnt happened lately.. but earlier it happened about 6 times in two hours.. Well.. it looked like it degaused, but stayed black for a bit then returned.. one time the picture went really small into the center of the screen to like a small circle then it droped straight down to the bottem of the screen and disappeared then a few seconds later it returned.

This sounds like a defective electromagnet.
