Ok currently we are about to start doing some coding in one of my school classes and it's going to be VB or Java/Java Script. I don't know what to choose but I guess VB 6 will do.
I was wondering, is it best to use the links in that Pinned topic to get started since I don't know any VB any more, or is there something better that could help.

Or Javascript I guess.

Hey there Disruptor, welcome to Geeks to Go...

Visual Basic would be the best option, it's easier to understand and you can do so much more than in Java.

is it best to use the links in that Pinned topic

Yes, use the links provided in the pinned thread to give you a better understanding or to refresh your memory.

Also here is some tutorials that's good to start off with:
Visual Basic in 12 Easy Lessons
Visual Basic 6 Tutorial

Cool, I hope those work for you. :whistling:

VB will help you understand the logic that is behind any programming language, once you understand how VB works logically, you know any programming language, you just need to know it's syntax and your good to go (like different words mean different things in different programming languages...)

I know this reply is a bit late, but just pointing out that VB6 is an obsolete language, having been replaced by VB.NET. Also pointing out that Java and Javascript are two completely different languages. I would recommend VB.NET, but if that is not available as a class, then Java would be your next best bet (to learn a programming language useful today). Javascript is not a programming language, but a scripting language.
