Every time i go on Youtube, or anything with advanced Flash I always get a message saying "You need flash player to view this movie"

So i waddle of to Adobe to get Flash Player 9, when I go to install iot the message appears saying installed. But the same original problem continues.

I have uninstalled using the uninstall program, but still not solution.

Any ideas?

Hey there Vans, which version of Flash Player did you install?

Since you have already installed Flash Player, I am going to have you remove it to make sure the fix works correctly. first goto:
> "Start"
> "Control Panel"
> "Programs" then "Programs and Features" or "Programs and Features" in Classic View
> Look for anything to do with "Flash Player" and uninstall it.

If you CANNOT find it download this file and run it:

Flash Uninstall

Then... If you are using FIREFOX: (If not skip this part and everything having to do with Firefox)

> Start by uninstalling Firefox, using the same method we used yo uninstall Flash Player by going to "Programs and Features" but this time select "Mozzila Firefox" and uninstall that.
> Restart you computer

> When it has restarted goto:
> "Start"
> "Documents"
> "Organize" in the toolbar
> "Folder and Search Options"
> Goto the "View" tab
> Under the heading "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders"
> Now navigate to your root drive (Default: "C:\")
> Goto "Program Files"
> Delete the folder "Mozilla Firefox"
> Then go back to root director and go in the folder "Users"
> Then your profiles name... (Example: "Vans")
> "AppData"
> "Local"
> "Mozilla"
> Delete the folder "Firefox"
> Go back one so that you back in "Local" folder and open "VirtualStore"
> "Program Files"
> Delete the folder "Mozilla Firefox"
> Go back to "AppData" folder, which is 3 back.
> Open "Roaming" folder
> "Mozilla"
> And once again delete the folder "Firefox"

NOTE: Using this method will remove homepage, bookmarks, themes, extensions and everything having to do with Firefox. So make backups of the things you need.

Now download the latest version on Firefox on their site and install it:

http://www.firefox.com

Now try downloading and installing this version: (9,0,28,0) [NOTE: If using Firefox, make sure Firefox is closed]

Direct Download
Download Site

This version is said to have been fixed to support Windows Vista and it seemed to have worked for me. When I installed Flash Player earlier I also had problems with it, but using the methods I have just provided you solved the problem. I hope it does for you too.

Please let me know if this worked if you had any problems following my instructions... Goodluck :whistling:

Right then I did everyting you said, Im not using FireFox right now.

I had come across the unintall_flash program before, each time I run it it come up with an error, of which I have attached to this thread (Attachment #1)

So I downloaded the standalone flash setup file and executed that, but that didnt seem to install. I tried using compatibilty mode and run as administrator, neither with any results. I installed it and went to the location it had said it installed in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash.exe, however these files and directories do not exist, see Attahment #2

Hey again Vans, sorry for the long wait. I found Flash Player specifically for Internet Explorer 7 for Vista. Click on the link below:

http://www.softwarep...rnet/flash.html

Wait for awhile (Couple of seconds) for a pop-up to come up, click "Continue" when it does. Then Click "Install", close your browser and re-open it and see what happens at Youtube. If the pop up does not come up there will be a bubble at the top, right click and select "Install Active-X"...

Now it should be working, let me know.... Shweet :whistling:
