In a cell range say of A1:L1 I want to add the eight or (n) largest numbers.
Where (n) can vary between 1 and 12
I use Excel 2000
Any help will be appreciated

Since posting the above I have found an "Array formulae" that does what I want !!

The array formulae is:

=SUM(LARGE(A1:L1,{1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8}))

The result in M1

Hi Silver_Fox.

This is what I've got for you:

=SUM(LARGE(A5:A14,{1,2,3,4,5,6}))

This is an array that sums the 6 largest numbers in the range of A5:A14. To change the number of largest, just add ",7,8,9" etc.

If that doesn't make any sense, please post back.

Good luck!

Hello Linda

Many thanks for your reply.

I eventually worked it out for myself and updated my post.

I still appreciate you taking the time to help.
