he wants to stop the ads, not the program
waynf,
I know next to nothing about IM, as the idea doesn't seem to appeal to me for some reason, but have you considered something like Trillion, which is a cross protocol IM program....and I don't think it has the ads of which you speak

Is there any way to set up or un-set up Yahoo! Instant Messenger so It does not come up automatically on desktop . Set it up so I have to go after it like other programms on start up items.
Where exactly do you see anything about ads????
If i understand correctly he is talking about the program loading automaticly at start up!
Or am i missing something????

Ravenheat, pay no attention to me....I had two windows open with two similar problems and crossed them....
Thanks for pointing it out so I can go fix the other one.

In case you are talking about Yahoo starting itself when the computer is started, I can help you how to disable this.
1) Open Yahoo Messanger.
2) Click on the Messenger menu and then go to Preferences.
3)Disable the first hook in the General category (Automatically start Yahoo!Messanger).
4) Click OK.
It should be that easy, or is that not what you were asking for?
