I was wondering if anyone had come across this. My dad has an Acer Aspire T135-S870 and it won't boot up. All it does is one long beep and the power button flashes. Anybody got any ideas?

I, tonight, had this exact same problem, which I am new to. Definitely, the one long beep has something to do with something in the tower. The hardest part for me was getting the tower open (I've never done that before but found tons of help on sites like this).
The original poster is right. You just have to open up the tower and make sure there are no "loose" connections (at least on the main components). Also, though, mine was really dusty so definitely make sure you clean out any excess dust. A real quick way is using those Clorox disinfecting wipes. Real easy to use to clean.
Once I did all that, the Acer Aspire T180 booted up regularly.
In my case, though, it may have been excess dust. I don't think any of my connections were "loose."
