Bought this Pavillion dv9310us Sunday, (three days ago). It has already done 2 system restores and booted in safe mode once. The first time it did that I had tried to remove Norton Anti-Virus from add remove programs and when it restarted it wanted safe mode.....I looked that up on the website, then downloaded and installed the Norton remover. Problem solved.....then I shut it down last night and when I tried to start it up this morning it was back to the blue error screen. I am really starting to miss XP SP2.
Should I take it back to Circuit CIty, or try to restore from the Partitioned restore settings???

Advise would be cool, thanks! :whistling:

Don't void your warranty...take it back and have them fix it.

I ended up using my restore disks I made when I brought home the computer. (that doesn't void the warranty does it?) Then I downloaded the windows updates, etc. mozilla, and avg. each time rebooting. Started avg updates etc. set a system restore point. Made back up disks of everything else (nothing since I restored it to factory settings) then removed Norton with add-remove programs....rebooted twice, no problems. then I set another system restore point after the uninstall so I won't have to mess it up again.
Avg runs fine, shows up in security alerts as it should, and norton appears to be gone for good!!!!!

Thanks For your reply...I didn't want to take it back right away and tell them I had the computer for 2 days and it already reboots in safe mode....

OOPS!

Thanks

Thanks for replying back and letting us know what you did to get it working properly! :whistling:

(Using your restore disks won't void your warranty)
