the swf file is flash generated....
okay, you are using Adobe Flash CS3...correct?
- If so, I haven't used Adobe's version of flash yet, Only Macromedia Flash 8, which I believe was their last version before they were purchased by adobe. However, I'm sure the same type of engine is used.
When you create the file in flash, you need to.... Here are the steps.
1. Go up to FILE > Publish Settings
2. Make sure "FLASH" and "HTML" are selected.
3. The program should export 2 files to the folder where you saved the original .FLA file
4. One file is a .swf
5. One file is a .html
6. Open the .html file with NOTEPAD
7. Between the <body> and </body> tags, copy ALL the coding... this is the coding for the swf file to be put within a webpage
8. Open your webpage in NOTEPAD, DREAMWEAVER, FRONTPAGE, or whatever you are using to code the page... and PASTE the coding you just copied to wherever you want the swf file to be placed.
9. Save the file and open it in a browser to make sure it worked.
If it's not working, you're not copying the code correctly.
Since you're making a website, I'm assuming you already have a server to host the domain. Copy your files to the server, the SWF file and your webpage you want it to go into... then copy the url's to each in here.
For instance.
www.mydomain.com/name.swf
www.mydomain.com/webpage.html
Then I can look at your files. I prefer not to have files sent to me, as I joined this board because of a virus issue. Plus, this is something you need to learn how to do yourself!
If I do it for you, you'll continue to have the problem. I've laid out all the steps for you. Just follow them one by one.
