I recently purchased a laptop off of my brother for 300 bucks and dont know the password to login at the vista welcome screen. Normally i would ask him, but he is in africa for work and isnt slated to return until late september. I would normally use a password reset program of some sorts, but i dont have a usb flash drive, dont have a dvd or cd-rom drive(brother smashed it) and dont have a floppy drive. Is there any way i can reset the password using my local area network, or some other way? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry, but if you can't reach your brother, then we are unable to assist you. It is against our terms of service to help crack passwords. You will need to get the cd/dvd working and use the restoration cd's that came with the laptop to restore it. If you don't have the media then you will need to purchase the full os from microsoft. If your lucky, you might be able to talk to the manufacture of the laptop and order new media cd's. They a small amount for them.
