This has probably already been discussed but I have a Linksys WRT54G router. I don't know too much about networking so I'm hoping for some help here. I have cable internet and my modem and tv both run from the same line, with a splitter (thats how the guy installed it). The modem and router aren't convenient for my desktop which I put a wireless card into and have been using previously with no troubles. Anyway, now the router is in my room and my computer is the "main". What I would like to do is go completely wireless with no computers connected to the router but everything I've tried so far doesn't let me do that, keep in mind I'm a networking novice. Any suggestions?

Have you been to the router's setup page or do you have access to it? To access it the first time you have to be wired and go here

http://192.168.1.1

then you can set up a new admin password and username which will allow you to access it from wireless.
