yesterday we got our virgin broadband set up(a wired modem thats not connected to the telephone line but through a round cable, a broadband cable, looks like optical cable)
we went and purchased wireless broadband router micronet SP916GK but we just cannot get the wireless connection to work.
the internet only works when the virgin modem is connected directly with an ethernet cable to my pc.
i have tried all sorts of different settings in the router set up (192.168.1.1) cos i am able to connect to the wireless network its just that the internet connection doesnt work.
i am not even sure anymore that the router we bought is the right one for the type of internet connection we have.
the router didnt come with any cables apart from the power supply cable and i only got 1 ethernet cable with virgin(the one that goes from the modem to my pc directly when a wired connection is running)
do i need another ethernet cable to connect and set up the wireless router correctly?
i tried with adsl cables i had from my previous modems and routers but there's no LAN light on so i dont think they're the right ones for this.....tried connecting virgin modem with the wireless modem through an ethernet cable and then my pc with the wireless router through an adsl cable and it just didnt work.
should i take the router back to the shop and get something different?
am i doing something wrong?
tried contacting micronet for help and they were very unhelpful....basically sent me a screenshot of the manual i got with the router (!!)
tried contacting virgin but got no help again cos if the wired connection's working ok nothing else concerns them.
i am running out of ideas.
i have set up 2 wireless modems/routers in the past so i am not completely new to these things.
someone help me out and help me solve this please

Did you access the Micronets setup page and use the Quick Setup Wizard?
