component cables

So I connected my PS3 via component cables and fixed the settings on the display and sound settings. The game looks fine but I cant hear a thing. Does anyone know what coudl fix this problem or what could be the cause of it?

The three component cables are only video. You still have to use the red and white conectors from the analog portion of the cables for audio.
