ok, due to a recent turn of events, i had to completely erase all data on my HDD that had vista installed on it. (i had a second HDD with XP MCE) now when i boot my PC, it still shows the vista OS selection screen, and my vista HDD no longer shows up in XP's "My Computer" area

this problem was solved by formatting the HDD to a NTFS file system.
