Sidebar won't add new gadgets

My sidebar was working for a while, and today I wanted to add a new gadget to it. I tried to add it, but nothing happened. I tried extracting it to the folder and rebooting, it never detected the gadget. And it wasn't just that gadget. I now can't add any gadget (unless the 12 I tried were all defective).

Hi smmalis...

Are the gadgets going to the extended sidebar? Look in the upper right corner of the sidebar...is the little arrow symbol brighter? If it is, click on it to open the hidden portion and see if your gadgets are installed there.
