Camcorder Question

I have a general question. Looking at buying a hard drive camcorder. It will have the ability to burn a DVD on the computer - question: will that DVD then play on a DVD player on the TV? Thanks for feedback.

If the camcorder will copy to the PC then Nero or Roxio would burn a disc you can play in a standalone player
