well i have been having this problem for a few months now and its with the latest yahoo messenger. when i log in my messenger everything seems like it will function normally and then it freezes and i get an error message saying that he has encountered a problem and needs closes any help would be great thx....

Same with me. Yahooexe file is causing problems with windows and will close now.

I have done all this

1) wiped off yahoomessenger 2x and downloaded again

2) updates MS patches for the OS and internet explorer

3) Antivx PE, ad ware, spybot, shredder cw

4) Cleaned registry and tried Ewido security

I am now running firefox browser with good sucess. I had a problem with several trojans that I deleted from my machine, but obviously I deleted a necessary IE file and cant run it either. Must file share something with messenger and explorer. I will probably just erase the whole friggin thing and start over spent about 60 hrs on this problem over the last month. I even bought a fix cd on ebay which is friggin worthless.
