I'm a PC guy and i love XP. i finally got enough money and bought a Laptop. (HP Pavilion DV6000) just my luck it was the first week of vista release. so i got my vista computer. my gigabeat synced up nice but i think that was the ONLY thing that i could plug in. any external hard drive, my friends M-audio fire-wire interface, an M-audio 61 key-studio, various kinds of wireless mice. it seems that i cannot install any kind of usb devices. I'm really regretting getting my vista laptop. is my problems just because i have the first copy of vista? will SP1 fix my problems? any kind of help will be greatly appreciated. thanks much!

Any PC Guy knows that any version of Windows is a pile of pants right up until about three months after Service Pack 1 is available. SP1 for Vista will be available anywhere between now and next Easter.
You usually find that SP1 fixes a lot of stuff, but as happened with SP2 for XP, it can also break a lot of stuff. So whether your problems will be resolved after SP1 nobody can tell.

My sister bought a new Dell with Vista and it definitely has its flaws. No one should even consider upgrading until Vista SP2 is released. I myself would skip Vista entirely and wait for "Windows 7."

I just got a new Dell with Vista too. I've always had good luck, but now even my Outlook email program when I close it, it will automatically reopen... Frustrating. Also, we use www.spyblaster.com for spyware and it pulls up vista system listings with errors.
